About the Tavern

The Worldgate Tavern sits at the center of the multiverse!

At least, that's what the crazed old wizard who pulled you through a portal into this place told you. Some things about it certainly are strange. People report they are able to leave whenever they like, finding themselves back in their homes, but the Tavern seems to call to them when they are needed, and upon walking through a door in their house they thought would lead to a kitchen, or a privy, they found themselves instead in the Worldgate Tavern.

The tavern itself is fairly small, though there are several rooms in the back to sleep in and take your pleasure within, but there is a dedicated staff which makes sure that they have food and drink for all. Inevitably, members of the Order of Sympanomancers will drift in and out, those dodgy old wizards who seem to run the place and have offers of adventures for the wanderers who find themselves to this place.

The wizards have also placed strong magics in place over the tavern, preventing violence between the bar patrons. But if violence is in your heart, never fear because before long the wizards inevitably will open a portal to another realm and request brave souls to do their deeds in alternate planes. In the tavern itself attempts to do violence magically compel individuals to arm wrestle instead

A bounty board may offer some warnings as to what types of dangers (and new mechanics) players might face within this strange realm they travel to. As well, adventurers are encouraged to make wagers with one another on the sucess or failure of various journeys into the portals.

There is also room for dicing and other games of chance and skill.

OOC Notes

  1. The tavern is magically protected against violence. Also unless otherwise noted, skills do not work on one another in the tavern. You may still use skills narratively.
  2. If the need for conflict resolution does occur, there is a magic compulsion to arm wrestle instead of physically fighting
  3. While players don't need to wear headbands if they are drinking, we ask that players not fight within an hour for each drink they've had. Generally the game is structured such that you should be able to do your adventure/fighting and then relax and drink. If plot has any doubts about your sobriety you will not be allowed to fight.
  4. At game check in, each player will receive a white style chit which they write their initials on. You may give this chit to any other player who is doing a fantastic job roleplaying, and a player may receive multiple chits
