Launch Application DemoWhat It Was
This was an internal tool for tracking students enrolled in a health care careers program at Canoga Park High School (part of LAUSD). Clinical partners from organizations like Kaiser Permanente, UCLA Health, Pierce College, and local medical centers could log in, view their assigned students, and submit activity reports tracking attendance, attitude, and skill development.
Admins had additional capabilities to manage user accounts, add students, and assign them to different clinical partners. The system tracked metrics like punctuality, focus, professional attitude, and learning progress.
Features
User Management
Login/logout, session handling, role-based access (regular users vs admins)
Student Tracking
Add students with contact info, assign to staff members, track by class period
Activity Reports
Submit and view reports on student activities, attendance, and progress
Admin Panel
Full CRUD for users and students, assignment management, report viewing
Tech Stack
Built with PHP 5, MySQL, and jQuery UI (with the "Trontastic" dark theme). A fairly standard CRUD application of its era—complete with session-based auth, form validation, and the kind of inline SQL that makes modern developers wince.
Bonus: The Error Page
Every good 2010s web app needed a quirky error page. This one featured a Grue infestation and a hand-drawn cat.

This project represents a specific moment in time: building internal tools for real users who needed them, learning PHP patterns by doing, and discovering the hard way why security matters. It worked, it helped people, and it taught me things I still use today—even if the techniques have evolved.
